About Kyra
When you read over singer/songwriter Kyra Daniel’s list of accomplishments, you’d think you were reading the CV of a seasoned performer as opposed to that of a 16-year-old artist. But Kyra Daniel is a gifted and highly focused young artist. She’s been singing since she was a very young girl and now as a new teen, she has a mature, powerful voice that is getting noticed by the likes of Canada's Got Talent, Mickey Guyton, Brittney Spencer, Sacha and Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men. Wanya even placed Kyra in the finals of his Wan Wednesday (Season 2) singing competition (finished Top 15 with over 300 adult entrants!) As a past member of Mini Pop Kids (2020 -2023), Kyra is no stranger to live performances as the MPK troop toured extensively, performing to kids and parents across Canada, the US, as well as online. Kyra’s voice, performance skills and confident personality was noticed by Nashville Music Executive LeAnn Phelan. LeAnn connected Kyra to write with pop producer/UMPG songwriter Evan Cline on zoom. Those sessions led to a trip to Nashville for Kyra to record her first EP with her co-writer/producer Evan and added the title of “songwriter” to her list of talents. In 2022, Jayward Artist Group added the talented young artist to their roster (and Jayward's Jill Snell took on co-management duties with Phelan) and released Kyra’s debut single “Like It’s Summer” in June. An up-tempo, catchy pop jam that landed on Amazon Music’s Brand New Music, Fresh Pop and Summer Pop Party Playlists!
The empowering and poignant single “Words Mean Something”, released in September 2022, is one of Kyra’s first co-writes and clearly displays her talent for writing lyrics and crafting melodies. “Words Mean Something” portrays a very personal experience through its lyrics and is illustrated through story in Kyra’s first music video directed by Sean Cartwright.
Kyra’s third release “Be Free” was co-written with UMPG’s Evan Cline and produced by Cline with additional production by Canadian producer, Steve Molella (Finger Eleven). “Be Free” is a message of empowerment and self-love and self-respect to the youth of today. “Don’t try to change for anybody else”, “Be Free, Love yourself in and out”.
In December 2023 Kyra released her first holiday song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" - a beautiful version captured in a stunning music video shot in Toronto's Distillery District.
In the Fall of 2024, Canada’s Got Talent invited Kyra to audition where she received 4 yeses from the judges and her performance was televised in April, 2025.
Early 2025 (Feb 2) saw Kyra’s first viral moment when after dozens of Toronto Raptor anthem performances, her version of the Star-Spangled Banner brought boos from much of the 19,000+ strong audience at the LA Clippers game due to the US announcement of 25% tariffs on many Canadian goods. The following day Kyra was inundated with interview requests across North American media outlets to describe her stressful experience as a 15-year-old singer during that game. Coverage included Inside Edition, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun, Global TV, CBC, multiple local radio stations and more.
Shortly thereafter in March '25, Women in Music Canada invited Kyra to perform at their songwriter in the round event "The Power of Song" as part of the International Women's Week Summit at TD Music Hall. This was Kyra's first ever music industry performance where she was met with glowing accolades across the board.
This year brought lots of co-writing and cutting new music. The biggest highlight of the fall of 2025 was a writing session with one of Kyra's biggest heroes, Jully Black. She also worked with Sammy G from Kuya Productions (Alessia Cara) and Andrew (Marty) Martino (Down with Webster) and Theo Tams this year to bring new songs to life for 2026 releases. Kyra has been invited to perform another nine Canadian and US anthems during the '25/'26 Toronto Raptors' season among other live appearance opportunities.
